Ing. Matteo Fiorani

Matteo Fiorani received the B.S. degree and M.S. degree in telecommunications engineering from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Modena, Italy, in 2007 and 2010 respectively.

Since January 2011 he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) at the Department of Engineering "Enzo Ferrari" , University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.

International Collaborations:

1) From January to May 2010 he was with the Institute of Broadband Communications, Vienna University of Technology, Vienna, Austria, working on his M.S. thesis.

2) In June 2012 and from January to March 2013 he was with the Institute of Telecommunications, Vienna University of Technology, Vienna, Austria, as a visiting Ph.D. student.

3) From May 2013 he is with the Optical Networks Lab. (ONLab), KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden, as a visiting Ph.D. student.


Research Interest

His research interests include:

1) Architectures and switching schemes for core and data center networks

2) Energy consumption in optical networks

3) Ethernet Passive Optical Networks (EPON)
