PhD Candidate

Brief CV

Antonio RICCIARDI was born in San Giovanni Rotondo (FG), Italy, on June 10th, 1982.

He received the Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electronic Engineering, from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia in 2004, discussing a thesis entitled "Analysis of CAD software for optical system" - Prof. Luigi Rovati. Still from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, in 2006 he received the Master of Science (MS) in Electronic Engineering, discussing a thesis entitled "Design of Low Noise Amplifier in 0.35um SiGe BiCMOS for radiometric applications" - Prof. Mattia Borgarino.

From January 2008 he is a PhD Candidate at University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. His supervisor is Prof. Mattia Borgarino.

A large amount of his Ph.D. activity was carried out in eWings srl, a design center located near Bologna (ITA).

Actually he is at the LAAS, a CNRS laboratory located in Toulouse (FRA). His research activity is a part of FINEST (Fonctions INtégrées fortement Equilibrées pour Systèmes de Télécommunications en bande millimétrique) project and is supported by France National Foundation for Research on Aeronautics and Space

Research activity

His research activity is focused on the design high-performance radio transceiver having in mind particular care for industrial applications.

Major projects in which he is committed: - Design of a ultra-wide band low-power transmitter for automotive applications;

- Design of a Diagnostic Tool for the detection of fault conditions on the Italian Rail Traffic Management System;

- Design of the base-station GPS receiver for GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System);

- Target frequencies for automotive Radar 77-81GHz.
