Matteo Fiorani received the B.S. degree and the M.S. degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Modena, Italy, in 2007 and 2010, respectively. He received a PhD in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) from the same University in February 2014, defending a thesis entitled “Architectures for Energy Efficient Optical Networks”. During his PhD studies he had a long-term collaboration with the Institute of Telecommunications, Vienna University of Technology, Vienna, Austria.  
Matteo Fiorani is currently Postdoctoral researcher at the Optical Networks Lab. (ONLab), KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden.
